Newtownmountkennedy is a charming village located in the heart of County Wicklow. It is known for its scenic beauty and close-knit community. The village has seen significant growth in recent years, making it a desirable location for families and commuters. We did not spend much time in the town, simply used a hotel as our base.
- Attractions: The area offers beautiful landscapes and outdoor activities, including walking trails and parks. It serves as a gateway to explore the surrounding Wicklow Mountains.

Wicklow has a long history dating back to ancient times. The town played an important role during the Norman invasion of Ireland and has various historical landmarks that reflect its past.
- Wicklow Gaol: Built in 1702, this historic jail was used until the end of the 19th century and now operates as a heritage center and tourist attraction.
- Wicklow Town Hall: Dating back to around 1690, this building is another significant historical site in the town.

Kilruddery
Kilruddery is best known for Kilruddery House and Gardens, a historic estate near Bray. The house dates back to the 17th century and features stunning gardens that attract many visitors.
- Kilruddery House: This stately home showcases beautiful architecture with its Tudor-style façade. The tour if the home was a bit disappointing as it did not include much of the house, but the estate and gardens were lovely. The estate includes expansive gardens that are ideal for leisurely strolls and exploring local flora.
- Cultural Events: Kilruddery often hosts cultural events, including art exhibitions and farmers’ markets, making it a vibrant hub within the region.
Bray
Bray is a picturesque coastal town situated along the Irish Sea, just south of Dublin. It is renowned for its stunning seafront promenade, scenic views, and outdoor activities. This was another place we just stopped at on a whim, and found very attractive. This was our last stop before returning the rental car in Dublin.
- Attractions: Visitors can enjoy attractions such as the Bray Head, which offers hiking trails with breathtaking views over the coast. The town also features beautiful beaches, restaurants, shops, and cultural sites like the Bray Heritage Centre.
