Next day, we were back on the Tube, this time heading out toward Buckingham Palace and Green Park. Bad timing, we got caught in the huge Sunday crowd for the changing of the guards ceremony.
Hyde Park was wonderful – beautiful gardens, and the Diane Princess of Wales Memorial Walk.
Time for lunch, so back to the Tube, and on to Camden Town. It was a whole different world. Punk rockers, huge crowds, people making every fashion mistake imaginable.
We did find a nice pub for lunch by the water called Lock 17 at Dingwalls. We also saw the Worlds End pub on the way back to the Tube and a saner part of town.
We had to get back to catch an organ recital at St. Paul’s Cathedral – another way to get in for free. Although after a few minutes I would have paid to have it stop.
Finished up the day with dinner at The Prince of Wales Pub near Covent Gardens.
