Roscommon was one of our favorite places. We thoroughly enjoyed the town, the park, meeting a barman, and our unusual hotel. The park and castle complex was an unexpected delight. we also made it back to Strokestown and the Famine Museum, after learning a little about the history of the region at the Rathcroghan Heritage Museum, and looking for burial mounds and old ring forts.
