A short flight from Lisbon to Heathrow Airport, and we were in the next phase of our spring 2025 trip, the UK. We didn’t arrange for a car or call a Bolt or Uber, as the fees for service to and from Heathrow were ridiculously high. Instead, we picked up our bags and found the entrance to the London Underground, just a short walk from the baggage claim area.
We had an app on our phone already for planning routes and paying the fares, so we knew we had to look for the Piccadilly Line towards Cockfosters – can’t get much more British than that!
It only costs us about $6 each to use the Tube, and in fact we made good use of it during our stay in London. Between the Tube and walking about, we only hired a car once – to get to the train station for our next stop, Oxford.
